At the rear entrance of the Malibu Country Mart, Mr. Chow takes over the spaces vacated by Nobu upon their relocated to PCH. From the outside, a glamorous white marquee wraps an outdoor patio arranged in fashionable packed banquettes and doorway that leads inside the main dining room. Designed by Michael Chow himself, a mostly all-white dining room has nods of beach and Chinese influence with long bar facing an open kitchen that strides one side of the room and perks with singles life till almost midnight on summer weekends.
A dining institution in cities like London, Beverly Hills and New York, the world’s most famous Chinese supper club pops-up in Malibu with a familiar menu that begins with selection of stuffed dumplings, traditional egg rolls and innovated vegetable dishes that can be cooked steamed, pan-fired or fried to your own personal liking. Mains are a familiar, family-style selection of Chinese specialties from duck and chicken to pork and fish that can be enjoyed with calorie-counting in mind - especially given the close proximity to California’s fanciest beaches.
Mr. Chow moves into Malibu Country Mart with self-designed dining room and weekend celeb following.
