Unless you are specifically going there, you could walk right passed the non-descript door of MNKY HSE without even noticing it. Once inside, though, you enter a new world of London nightlife. The bar and lounge area is on the ground floor. You then descend the Tron-like stairs to the basement beneath where you will find the restaurant and main bar. The decor features dark wood panelling on the walls similar to what you would find in a private London club. The walls are full of large, colorful, and sometimes strange portraits set in lavish gold frames. The restaurant has a similar style in addition to rough alcoves where the walls are striped back to the raw building materials. The overall effect is intoxicating. The bar is intoxicating too with an eclectic mix of cocktails, wines, champagnes, and mescals. The restaurant serves flamboyant Latin American cuisine that is rich, daring, and full of flavor. Once you have finished eating you can then sit on to enjoy the late-night entertainment. Depending on the day you go this could be a DJ or live music, both of which are enough to keep you on the dance floor for hours.
