Reason to Stay
Business Hotel, Luxury Spa, Central Location
Aman has debuted a string of new resort outposts that have included two more urban destinations located in Beijing and Venice. Now, the starry hotel collection lands Aman Tokyo along the upper six floor of new Otemachi Tower that brings a gilded address to a neighborhood known for its media workers and city executives. In terms of locations, Tokyo seems a natural progression for Aman with eastern and western-traveling guests often laying over for stays en route to their resort properties throughout Southeast Asia. The Tokyo-property is designed by Australia’s Kerry Hill Architects and fuses traditional Japanese design with familiar minimalist flair. Textures of Japanese Washi paper, Camphor wood and local limestone define the showstopper lobby with its six-story atrium built to resemble an ornamental paper lantern. A traditional Japanese rock and inner garden bring elements of local custom into the property that includes Aman Spa with its indoor pool with skyline view of Tokyo. Further perks include a ground-level café that’s open to the public as well a formal dining room, lounge bar and resident’s library all with their own unique views of the city.
Architectural details like floor-to-ceiling windows and concrete ceilings extend to the property’s 84-guest rooms with in-suite spas outfitted in freestanding ‘furo’ bathtub and lavish rain showers typical to Aman. Entry-level deluxe and premier rooms are a spacious 900-square feet on average with entrance foyer and views that include the Imperial Gardens and Tokyo skyline. Larger suites include private dining area and full-pantry while Corner and Aman Suites include guest bedroom and additional bathroom ideal for larger parties.
