Long a member's club for London's intellectual elite and celebrities, The Art Clubs recently unveiled a 16-room hotel open to outside guests. Those visiting the club for the first time are invited into a world of privilege from the quaff brasserie with its pale leather banquettes to the member's bar and movie theater that hosts weekly screenings and speaker series. A permanent art collection graces walls and corridors with bright works by Baldessari and George Condo. The hotel operates in tandem with the club, with shared reception and guests privileges extended to anyone staying overnight.
The Room
This micro-hotel occupies former office space on the second, third and fourth floors of the Arts Club's Dover Street frontage. Quaff, English interior mix herringbone wood floor with leather club chairs and delicate accessories that lend a bespoke feel unlike any other London hotel. With a look penned by design consultancy Sagrada, rooms feature art and furnishings by Jacques Adnet, Gio Ponti, Finn Juhl, Piero Fornasetti and Hans Wegner.
