In a region that requires a dictionary to define the various ill dimensions of its boutique hotels, Casa Dell'Arte is the rare exception of luxurious design and one-of-a-kind art collection owned by Istanbul art collector. Located on the seafront, this stylish design hotel is situated next to the old fishermen's village of Torba within a series of outlying buildings that contain a hotel, private residence and fleet of motor yachts. Visitors in flowing Pucci sundresses and white linen trousers make their way through black iron doors and into a lobby foyer surrounded in a mixture or colorful modern and realist art. Uber-manicured gardens lead to a series of covered terraces and walkways to a seaside swimming pool wrapped in teak decking and white daybeds with staff scattering about with fluffy towels, fruity water and international magazines. Beachfront Palm restaurant offers an upscale dining scene next to the water that evolves into a more formal affair by nightfall, facing a green sprawl of grass with outdoor bar tucked under the shade of majestic giant palms.
The Room
Originally a private home, the Buyukkusoglu family created a 12-room hotel and later the 37-room family style property dedicated to art with everything from finger painting classed for kids to artist in residence programs aimed at grooming would-be Picassos. The Luxury Family Resort-buildings have 37 guest suites, all of which are decorated with original paintings of the contemporary masters or up-and-coming Casa Dell’Arte artists. Furnishings are the most modern of any resort in the area, especially with the absence of the EV in recent seasons, facing well-sized outdoor areas with a flowing layout conducive to young families. The more formal Residence, best for couples without children, has 12 guest suites and a private villa; decorated with more pricey works of contemporary art as well as open style bathrooms with oversize tubs and private pool.
