Luxury Resort
The most glamorous luxury hotel opening ever to hit the Turkish Riviera, Aman Resorts debuts only its third European property to date on the Bodrum Peninsula this August. Amanruya, which is a play on Sanskrit and Turkish words for 'peace' and 'dream', casts its luxurious spell along the northern coast along Mandalya Bay in a dense forest of olive trees and coastal pines just 30-minutes outside of the city center. Smaller than most Bodrum resorts, the Aman property offers an intimate exclusivity ideal for those looking to get away from it all yet return to all the riviera's action on a whim. The architecture of Amanruya blends traditional stone buildings of the region with restrained silhouettes and lush gardens matured during construction. The lobby features a three-story library as well as art gallery and wine cellar. Outside, a central resort pool trimmed in marble compliments sportier amenities like tennis courts and access to a nearby beach club.
The Room
Each of the 36 cottage-style rooms has its own angular pool with infinity edge and outdoor pergola with outdoor dining within the most luxurious hotel ever to open along the Turkish Riviera. The interiors marry Mediterranean and Ottoman style of smooth white walls and exposed beam ceiling with obvious Zen-references to this Singapore-based hotel collection’s roots like serine open bathrooms and exotic wood furnishings. Larger family suites are actually conjoined units that offer ample area for outdoor entertaining and summer soirees. While a good 20-miute drive to the humdrum of Turkbuku or further to the center of Bodrum, the removed location offers a more glitzy environ for those looking to stay above the fray of tourism.
