Luxury Hotel

An architectural triumph designed by Lucien Lagrange to mimic the grand hotels of the belle époque, Waldorf Astoria raises its flag along Chicago's Gold Coast above the former Elysian Hotel. In the evolution and revamp of Hilton's high-end luxury brand, Waldorf Astoria gains some serious street cred with an urban resort property that mixed 5-star luxury with a refined, modern design palette that refers itself well to younger professionals and those looking to avoid the usual "corporate" trappings of high-end luxury trains. The hotel oversees to impressive culinary options including the RIA, the hotel's two-Michelin-star restaurant. Further indulgences include an impressively equipped 14,000 square foot spa and health club with barber suite and Gyrotonics studio.

The Room

A total of 188 guestrooms and suites juxtapose a crisp white palette of modern furnishings with regency accents, elegant fireplaces and sophisticated design aesthetic that includes Rivolta Carmignani Italian bed linens. Bathrooms are tcked with built-in vanities and slab marble walls with inset LCD televisions opposite deep soaking tubs and occasional rooftop view. With an impressive track record as The Elysian, the word is still out on the legacy of this top Chicago property under the monolith Hilton-brand umbrella.
