  • Positano and Ravello, Monastero Santa Rosa is a 17th century convent that's been immaculate refurbished above the mythical waters of the Gulf of Salerno. A series of terraced gardens and long driveway lead to the historic property alive in citrus blossoms and jetting infinity pool that dangles precariously above the sea. A rolling roofline and castle-like silhouette contains a modest lobby reception and series of inner corridors that lead to the main eatery with its barrel stone ceiling and direct access to a grand outdoor terrace with 280-degree views. An in-house spa is more spacious than expected with two-story treatment rooms and series of baths and steam-sauna regiment all complimented by Santa Maria Novella bath products a respite above the congestion of the wider Amalfi.

  • The Room:

A boutique collection of just 20 rooms and suites are named after a surfeit of herbs that nuns of the former-convent would use in making medicine for locals. Rooms maximize the building’s inherent architectural features with a modern décor accented in more traditional pattern fabrics. Heavy wooden windows feature heavy wooden shutters with French doors that open to decadent balconies with some of the most spectacular views of any Amalfi hotel. Outdoor spaces are well designed and furnished with a designer’s touch complete with stylish bric-a-bra and candled accouterment. Further designer touches include period antiques from vintage armoires to gallery-worthy tapestries and artwork.
