A boutique moniker from Italy's Ferragamo fashion family, Portrait Firenze brings a sequel to the successful Rome luxury brand that's been a fixture for visiting style-makers for almost a decade. The rebranded property occupies the former Lungarno Suites, also owned by the Ferragamo's, commanding an impressive position above Florence's Ponte Vecchio facing Arno Bridge. Tailoring the look of Ferragamo's Florentine flagship is Michele Bonan who was also responsible for nearby JK Place on Piazza Santa Maria Novella " Portrait's main competitor. Crisp, white-paneled wood walls contrast darker wood floors and woven rugs in geometric patterns that extend through impeccably arranged lobby of upholstered sofas and wood-accented club chairs near a compact check-in area. Elements of 50s Italian design resonate with a hefty dose of old world elegance. While the hotel lacks the 24-hour services of a full-service hotel as well as a proper spa or formal eatery, it is home to Caffe dell'Oro that's a popular all-day brasserie and terrace with morning breakfast and late night feasts of homemade pastas and Florentine Steak.
