Design Hotel
Like something you'd fid in Miami Beach rather than Paris, The Moliter has been a staple of summer in the city since the late 1920s when it was created as a private swimming club in the city's 19th Arrondissement. After decades of decay and subsequent sale, the former pool club debuts as a glittery design hotel and private pool club available represented by Accor's M Gallery brand. With its historic façade mostly intact, the property was fully overhauled and now includes a winter and summer pool, Spa by Clarins and restaurant presided over by Michelin wonder Yannick Alléno. A mix of gilded opulence and deco design prevail inside the lobby that leads through a series of spaces that include a pop-art installation, stylish bar open until 2am and grand eatery. The in-house spa compliments a grand winter pool that's open year-round with well-sized fitness center. The rooftop features a perch above the main outdoor pool deck with café and lounge open late-nights in warm weather.
The Room
With over 112 rooms and suites, accommodations are found along stretching corridors that open to tranquil, monochromatic spaces. Smaller rooms come with a dark, somewhat unfortunate, carpeting while larger suites boast dark hardwood floors and generous windows and terraces. Décor mixes more mid-century touches outfitted in bold upholstery colors like crimson, yellow and orange. Ideal for those looking for a short summer break in the city of Paris, albeit in the 16th, few poolside vistas can compete.
