Grange pens Versailles inside Grand Palais

August 28, 2014 09.00 AM

From September 11th through the 21st, the interior design elite will descend on the Grand Palais in Paris for the 27th Biennale des Antiquaires. The biannual fair brings together the world’s top antique furnishings and art buyers and sellers for a 10-day extravaganza that follows Paris Design Week. This year’s gourmet restaurant includes daily changing menus by chefs like Guy Martin, Mauro Colagreco, Philippe Mille and Michael Roth. And if there’s any further doubt over the credentials of this gathering, its honorary committee includes names like Karl Lagerfeld, Mrs. Jacques Chirac and Princess Gloria von Turn und Taxis. This year the Biennale is designed by acclaimed French designer Jacques Grange who penned the interiors of such iconic hotels as The Mark in New York and Francis Ford Coppola’s Palazzo Margherita. The designer uses the gardens of Versailles for his inspiration that includes lavish floral installations, period tapestries and ornate fountains fit for a king " a design king that is. For those looking for an opening preview, a VIP Reception is held on the evening of September 10th.
