  • If not enough proof that Beirut is a surefire fashion hotspot, the owners of London's Whiskey Mist have set-up shop at the city's Phoenicia Hotel for the first migration of an A-List European or American nightclub to the city. Known for its celeb DJs and clientele ranging from Kanye to Kate Middleton, Beirut's Whiskey Mist finds its home in the former location of Phoenicia Hotel's Le Paon Rouge – the Beirut version of Studio 54 that ruled through much of the 60s and 70s.

Visitors arrive to a sophisticated VIP nightclub space defined by gold and amber lighting with main room featuring mirrored walls and LED ceiling with texting and animation effects that change throughout the night. A long granite bar features bronze statue of a racing horse and silver racing trophies under three enormous rock crystal chandeliers. The main dance floor is surrounded in dark leather booths arranged in asymmetrical angles to maximize privacy or two large booths in the center of the dance floor for maximum star wattage. More exclusive guests are offered entrance to the VIP room, via a private host, where additional DJ spins and velvet boots host the crème de la crème of Beirut society.
