  • With no signage other than an etched window bearing its name, KingSize defies a rather touristy strip of the Mitte where the residential fashion elite in opinionated spectacles and well-starched dress shirts descend on a boutique bar ideal for those looking for professional singles between 30-40ish but act much younger. Owned by the same proprietors as Grill Royal, a more abstract design aesthetic presides with obvious high-art influences and walls of well-displayed alcohol that can be ordered by the glass as well as with bottle service. Quirky brick-a-brac includes vintage taxidermy and arty lighting track on a two-story ceiling that lends a boho feel amongst a thoroughly Platinum and Black Card patronage. Privy to Berlin’s moneyed finance crowd, the bar attracts a more blue blood following by night who’s usually chasing the dance scene for sounds of vintage house, rock and drum beats that last till a wee-eyed 7am.

The dance scene can get to a late start on weekend, likely no earlier than 2am on a Saturday and 12am on a weeknight.
