With period brickwork and vintage windows on the corner of the Wheeler Opera House, Justice Snow’s is the latest gastro-pub to hit Aspen within a familiar space that gets its best eatery to date. A period storefront leads to a heavy wooden door that opens on a rustic eatery by designers Rowland + Broughton lined in wide-plank wood floors and gentlemanly bar of heavy wood detail and more modern adornment of vintage bottles that loom on crates overhead. The crowd is a great mix of Aspen locals and in-the-know visitors that stakeout a spot at the bar for artisan drinks whipped-up by what could be the area’s top mixologist and complemented by a menu of heavy bar snacks. Nearby a row of tabletops line the main room with step-down dining nook with more food-minded vibe offering dishes like tempura pickles, Angus flatiron steak with sautéed kale and slow-roasted pork shoulder sandwich that wows.
Tips
Currently one of the hottest bars in Aspen, visitors should opt for a later arrival after 7pm and stay for dinner in the quieter back dining room.
