It's located within a cantilevered compound of glassy architectural along the main highway linking Acapulco to its main airport. The space is divided between an upper-crust restaurant and more casual deck lounge with open-air dining room and light menu. Contained in a pristine white hall of floor-to-ceiling glass windows and edgy collection of Incan-inspired modern art, the main restaurant is a more formal affair of high-back chairs and starched linens. The rooftop deck and its adjacent outdoor lounge are more casual, perched atop the restaurant in a Balinese-inspired space of teak honeymoon loungers, cushioned settees and tropical foliage that frame jaw dropping views of downtown Acapulco.

The Food

There’s a big difference to eating at the lounge or restaurant. The formal dining room features appetizers like ceviche with jicama and chile habanero, foie gras with caramelized pear on melba toast or lighter rice paper spring rolls of vegetables and salmon. The soups are more impressive than the salads including white asparagus with caviar dusting, wild mushroom with truffle drizzle and cream of crab with chipolte. Entrees vary between seafood specialties like grilled shrimp risotto or Dorado in orange sauce to Chateaubriand or Peking Duck that could rival New York’s finest. Upstairs on the Deck is a sushi-centric menu of spring rolls, sashimi platters and carpaccio specialties perfect for a light dinner or happy hour snack.

Last Word

The dining room is great on the weekend, but feels a bit tired during midweek. If arriving during the week, skip the formal dinner and hit the rooftop deck with its sexy beach bunnies and 20-something businessmen.
