Globe Italian supper club of the flashy and famous
-
The Scene:
There are two types of Globe visitors. The first is our favorite, namely sexed-up locals in Louboutin heels too dressed-up to go to Opera or Coda at such an early hour. The other type is a more gentlemanly crowd too old to go to Opera or Coda at any hour. Thankfully for all of them there is Globe, a sexy Saint Laurent supper club famous for high-class singles and ever-hot social climbers looking to claw their way up the Montreal cast system. The crowd includes 'duh' but hot hockey jocks, too-tan Hollywood heartthrobs and blonde bombshells that work their way between the two despite having arrived with a date. The restaurant is divided between a central dining room with red velvet booths and tabletop seating, with dancing on wilder nights, and separate lounge with long bar and weekend DJ scene.

The Food:
Chef Alexandre Rolland creates a seasonal menu of locally sourced ingredients to define a kitchen specializing in seafood platters, prime meats and wood-burning specialties cooked to order. A 14-year culinary journey in the making begins with a 2-tier seafood platter arranged with fresh-flown oysters, rock shrimp, crab and lobster with saucy accouterments. Starters include a salad with hot goat cheese and tomato confit as well as a diced tuna tartare served with toast points. Main courses include organic chicken with Yukon potatoes, wild salmon, Angus Beef Strip loin and seasonal specials that change daily.

Last Word
Sexy Saint Laurent supper club specializes in celebrity social mingling, high-class flirtation and a pretty decent dinner menu good enough even for fickle Montreal socialites.
