  • The Scene:

Its location couldn't be more charming, located in the gleaming white Le Chabichou Hotel and Restaurant in the heart of Courchevel 1850. A green canopy covers a wooden terrace overlooking the fluffy white hillside, a familiar sight for the area's top foodies that come in seek of this 2-star Michelin kitchen. Like a French farmhouse, a cozy bar and lounge is outfitted in plaid-patterned sofas with octagon-shaped wooden bar serving signature Alscace wines and more-potent whiskey cocktails. Heated stone floors lead to a more formal dining room with carved-wood ceiling and center atrium suspended in iron chandeliers. Large frame windows offer a spectacular view amongst a bright and airy room of light woods and royal red carpeting, if one ever takes the time to look-up for the handmade porcelain china framing the signature French cuisine.

  • The Food:

Guests come to Le Chabichou to eat, beginning with starters like a marbled duck foie gras with herb sorbet, beef tartar with caviar or lighter lobster salad with truffle leeks. One of the most expensive meals you will ever encounter in Courchevel, prices can range upwards of 300-Euro per person even without wine if not opting for the 70_euro tasting menu. Seafood course includes fillet of sole with crayfish, sea bass in green tea broth and lobster entree drizzled in coriander juice. Meat eaters discover farm pigeon cooked in broad bean oil, pan-seared foie gras with crystallized roses and lamb cooked with figs and chickpeas. Dessert is a medley of peach crumble and signature white chocolate gateau.
