Although technically a chain, most who pass through its landscaped valet hedges and under the oversize entryway lantern have no clue the London original has been luring Madge, Posh and Gwyn for more than a restaurant decade. Your first impress night be, "Somewhere in Italy there's a marble shortage?" Interior floors are laid in glossy black-and-white tiles in a zigzag pattern amongst white paneled walls and ornate crystal chandeliers. The space is divided between a main dining room with powder-blue freestanding sofa, long white marble bar with banker barstools and outdoor terrace give nearby The Ivy a run for the paparazzi money.

The Food

Open for all-day dining, Cecconi’s may soon realize that no one in LA really eats eggs let alone a fried duck egg for breakfast. While nearby Ed’s need not worry, lunch comes with a power punch of signature salads like the Cecconi’s Cobb, foccaccia panini and wild mushroom pizza. Heavier entrees include eggplant parmigana, Osso bucco and meticulous veal scallopine also available on the dinner menu. Later in the evening the menu takes a brasserie twist with lengthy Crudo menu, selection of salmon or beef carpaccios and hmeade pastas topped with sausage or Maine lobster.

Last Word

Like a bourgeois version of LA’s The Ivy, this Italian-theme brasserie bring London’s Soho House Group to the West Coast with a lavish debut in one of Hollywood’s most sacred restaurant spaces.
