Beyond it's really good Italian cuisine, Becco is an architectural triumph accessed via a sleek teak box erupting with a catwalk-style bridge that leads to the main restaurant. Inside, the restaurant is divided between a stylish outdoor lounge with popular drinking bar open late nights and massive outdoor dining room equipped with teak dining tables and fluffy-white cushions that could just as easily fit in St. Tropez or Sardinia if not for the oh-so-sexy entourage of local singles that descend on the restaurant for showy 11pm dinners that last till the wee hours of the morning.
The Food
Touted by the New York Times and worthy of a reservation queue that extends three weeks in high-season, Becco al Mare is one of Acapulco’s chicest dining haunts located on a majestic hilltop overlooking Acapulco Bay and city skyline. An antipasto menu of bar snacks and light appetizers include tuna tartare, freshly sliced proscuitto de parma, elaborately presented fritto misto and fresh-caught seafood salads. Main course is an array of pasta topped with grilled langoustines, truffle-laden fettuccine and traditional beef and chicken dishes smothered with an array of sauces and sides.
