Quattro regularly competes with Araxi as the best restaurant in Whistler. Opened in 1996 and since remaining the best Italian eatery in town, the restaurant is located at the Pinnacle Hotel in the heart of Whistler Village. Fancier than you might expect or want in your fanciest of winter skiwear, an ode to Venice awaits diners who arrive to a moody dining room cast in dim light, thick swags of red drapery and Venetian glass chandeliers with tumbled-stone gas fireplace at the center of the room.
The Food
Hearty feel-good appetizers begin of warm Italian olives or hefty grilled sausages are so filling it may affect your desire to order anything else. Lighter appetizers, if they can be called such, range from beef carpaccio with truffle oil to grilled calamari steak with basil oil. Pasta course is the strongest with gnocchi in tomato pomodoro sauce, mushroom risotto with crunchy Parmesan and rigatoni with beefy lamb Bolognese. Main course comes in big boy sizes of breaded veal scaloppini with bocconcini, beef tenderloin with marsala and rack of lamb with fig gelee.
