We prefer the Indigo over The Grill at the Four Season’s any day even if it means relocating American business travelers who have often never even heard of Le Gray. Located on the 6th floor of Beirut’s top luxury design hotel, Indigo is situated in an indoor/outdoor dining room captured in floor to ceiling glass panels overlooking the historic heart of Beirut. The architecture of the dining room with its slatted-wood ceiling and natural stone floors offers a sexier ambiance and more playful crowd than its Four Seasons competition albeit with a thoroughly gentrified menu that feels not dissimilar to Campbell Gray’s other properties in London and the Caribbean.

The Food

A lengthy menu of British meets Mediterranean flavors begins with a starter menu of chilled tomato gazpacho, Scottish smoked salmon served from a fancy silver trolley, Wagyu beef tartare and near-perfect grilled calamari served with red tomatoes. Raw bar selections of poached Atlantic lobster, Alaskan crab legs and Oysters are some of the freshest of any in the city. Main course mixes seafood dishes like Thai baked sea bass in banana leaf, kangaroo loin with cherry sauce and lobster ravioli that are nothing short of delicious but sadly without a hint of almost any Lebanese flavors. Meatier options of rib-eye on the bone, baby chicken and award-winning Wagyu fillets are served with potato gratin and sautéed mushroom side accompaniments.

Last Word

Stylish 6th floor eatery of Le Gray Hotel offers continental menu of European specialties with flair of Mediterranean cooking.
