In the most formal of Hotel Adlon dining rooms overlooking Pariser Platz and the Brandenburg Gate, a quaff space of Caucus Mountain wood paneling with inlay gilding and dramatic marble fireplace surrounds the gastronomic Esszimmer dining room. Like an imperial parlor in the former Prussian castle to which the Brandenburg Gate led, the room features handcut crystal etched with restaurant logo, sizeable shellfish and salad bar and white glove service ideal for executive business types and aristocratic elite.
The Food
Prix fixe and ala carte menus begin with foie gras served with parfait of brioche cream, lobster glace or tuna with jellied juice of mushrooms. Second course dabbles in pigeon with olive sauce, scallop and pork belly duo or crayfish with warm cocktail sauce. Main course dazzles with filet of veal with capers and bacon, braised rib of Nebraska beef or saddle or roe deer with peppercorn sauce.
