One of those Miami Beach restaurants that’s been on the scene for more than a minute, The Forge embarked on an ambitious overhaul in 2009 that took it from ho-hum paparazzi eatery to a culinary force for Miami’s fashionable dining scene. Like a baronial dining room in the Swiss Alps, grand wood panels enwrap all four sides of the formal dining room arranged in whimsical settees and arrangements of modern Louis chairs. Overhead, a grand crystal chandelier irradiates a dressy dinner crowd in a series of private dining rooms and uber-decorated lounges including the hip Wine Bar curated personally by owner Shareef Malnik.

The Food

A seasonal menu of mostly locally sourced ingredients begins with pre-appetizers of seared diver scallops, Angus tataki and unique lobster peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Appetizers arrive with flair ala tuna tartare with Wasabi caviar, citrus cured salmon and full caviar service upon request. Main course dabbles in directions from steamed local snapper with side of braised endive, coffee-coated rib eye and Oak-grilled super steak rated one of the best in Miami.

Last Word

Longtime hotspot ups their games with latest redesign offering designer lounge scene and dinner menu with foodie aptitude.
