It's a windy night on the Mediterranean at the outdoor rooftop lounge known as Sky Bar. No relation to the collection of bars operated by Morgans Hotels at Mondrian LA, this chic scene is anything but mass-produced. The crowd is a bronzed and beautiful assortment of models and playboys pouring from their magnums of Dom at tables that seem to rise out of the open-air horizon. In the background are the electronic beats of pop anthems and dance tracks getting progressively louder as the night matures. It could just as easily be St. Tropez or Bodrum, but it's actually Beirut where suddenly the chic and powerful are arriving by the jet-load. While the rest of the world wallows in economic sorrow, things are hotter than ever at the rooftop lounge where visitors arrive to a sleek rectangular bar surrounded in two separate VIP banquettes and small dance floor privy to wild 4am antics.
It’s a tough door but know your financial limits before you request the VIP treatment. Bottle Service is on the pricey side so don’t expect anything under 500 Euro.
Rooftop lounge in Port of Beirut offers upscale singles crowd for late-night dance parties and international DJs.
