  • A short, picturesque walk from the center of Capri, or on one of the zippy golf courts that chauffeurs guests, La Minerva comes into view amongst a horizon of perfect blue Tyrrhenian sea and dramatic rock formations for which Capri is known. La Minerva has been a family home for more than a century, passed down to its current owners Luigi and Laura who slowly created the property into a larger 18-room hotel with a modern luxury aesthetic that mixes old and new. Like a perfectly produced photo set, the lobby is cast in shades of pure white with bold, blue-and-white tile floors and vintage photography of Capri in the 40s. A cushy décor mixes robust sofas and clubs chairs in exquisite upholster with gilded antiques and small hosted bar. Days begin along a large terrace that looks out over the outlying property with chunky rattan chairs and reclaimed wood tables for morning breakfast or nightly happy hour. Below, a well-designed pool is trimmed in teak deck and row of lounger near a planted garden overlooking the sea.

  • The Room:

Room categories of standard and deluxe rooms are arranged along 5 floors wand include some of the islands better designed especially for a 4-star property. Entry-level rooms are well penned with vintage tile floors, fluffy beds with upholstered headboards and cross-vaulted stucco ceilings. Upgraded rooms offer more living space oiwth small seating area next to large windows that open to reveal private terraces with loungers or more formal seating arrangement. Bathrooms trend towards the modern with reoccurring ceramic tile details and Capri selection of toiletries.
