Luxury Resort
Located on the outer crescent of Dubai’s illustrious Palm Jumeirah, a grand Arabian hotel palace infuses elements of Ottoman architecture and not-so-humble Italian design to create a showstopper resort. A stunted exterior offers a prime vantage of both the Dubai skyline and Arabian Gulf leading to a spectacular lobby with creamy mosaic marble floors and brimming fountain cast under two-story canary yellow columns. The décor is equal parts Versailles and Aladdin that would have Donatella reaching to take design notes on her Versace stationary. Ceilings are strewn with voluminous crystal chandeliers juxtaposed to layered oriental carpets and regional artwork that grounds the space in with its local environment.

Jumeirah did its homework in matching the caliber of this luxury resort with its infrastructure of on-site dining including Voi, a destination pan-Vietnamese eatery that that puts a modern design spin on 19th century French colonial style. Its beach-minded Plaj eatery offers all day seafood and sushi bar as well as even better received Al Nafoorah Lebanese eatery. Nightlife option leave little reason to stray away from the resort on a two-night stay with Sultan’s Lounge offering more of an upscale cocktail scene and Voda Bar providing 12am DJ entertainment for later on.
