Design Resort

Located in the new city of Marrakech, this short-lived Delano arrives with an impressive design pedigree by  Parisian designer Jacques Garcia. Hardly a newcomer to the Marrakech hotel scene with La Mamounia and the Selman under his belt, The Pearl is his most youth-minded hotel to date conveniently located to the area's top luxury shopping development. Visitors arrive to the more modern part of the city and woven-steel facade amongst a street lined in shops by Louis Vuitton and Missoni. Interiors maximize soaring ceilings with carved woodwork and local artistry that extends to marble floors and lounge area with retractable roof. The hotel's restaurant marquee features Del Cafe and ever-red Pomiroeu with Italian menu by the chef Italy's Osteria del Pomiroeu. Further hotel hedonism includes a grand in-house spa called The Pearl as well as rooftop pool and all-day eatery with views of the Imperial gardens and distant Atlas Mountains.

The Room

With a total of 27 opulent suites and 44 guest rooms, The Pearl shows-off its Marrakech decadence through a series of tailored design spaces that swap Garcia for Starck eclecticism. Entry-level Deluxe rooms promise “unconventional baroque oases” delivered through well-sized living areas trimmed in exotic wood floors, double Juliette balconies with jewel box seating area and bathrooms with Malin+Goetz bath products. Executive suites are almost double in size with separate living and bedroom with similar hand painted headboards and tasseled textiles. A polished backdrop to a party-minded hotel, The Pearl proves yet another great design by Jacques Garcia in more-commercial Marrakech.
