Luxury Resort
It's often touted as one of the best properties in the Four Seasons collection, its Bosphorus location carved out of an ornate and waterfront 19th Century Ottoman palace. Its grand facade nestled within a formal urban garden leads to a glassy valet and lobby flanked in endless marbles, museum-quality art collection and picture window views of the sea. Adjacent to the property is the waterfront swimming pool that's more showy than sexy with its sometime-overdressed patrons that reveal a bit more at the in-house spa with hammam and indoor pool that's one of the largest in the city. Dining comes at one of two eateries that may not live up to the rest of the hotel for those looking for a formal gastronomic playground.
The Room
Far larger than it first appears, this former palace is now home to near 170-guest room that went through a complete transformation in 2008. Today, entry-level spaces mix historic details like period windows and carved ceilings with modern hardwood floors and cushy décor in muted colors. Opt for a room in the palace building, namely the Palace Bosporus rooms that are best for those looking for the most affordable sea view with floor to ceiling windows facing the Maiden Tower or minarets of Old Town. Unique roof suites come with spacious outdoor patios while the top-of-the-line Atik Pasha Suite wows from its second floor location with marble bathroom and more elaborate décor.
