Hotel Type

Luxury Hotel

It's one of Beijing's most architectural hotels, at least from the outside with its stark white façade and erect silhouette designed by Chinese architect Ma Yansong and defined by its 29-stories of cubist window cutouts. Walking distance to Beijing's CBD and Embassy District, the building awakens a neighborhood skyline of monotonous glass towers with a lively destination that has become an attraction as much with locals as visitors. Inside, a world of modern art enlivens a mostly dark marble lobby accented in copper and gold undertones with décor that marries cushy western design with more subtle Chinese accents. Perhaps the best hotel infrastructure from restaurants to nightlife of any Beijing hotel, Conrad is home to two formal eateries as well as a tearoom and nightclub. The in-house spa is equally impressive with one of the town's largest fitness centers and indoor lap pool with skyline view.

The Room

Some might me disappointed that not all of the hotel’s 289 rooms and suites come with those abstract windows. But entry-level rooms still impress with its own wall of glass facing Tuanjie Lake Park or CCTV Building and generous ceiling height that allows for maximum light. Amenities like recessed LCD TVs, espresso makers and Chinese tea service adds a bespoke feel to this premium Hilton-brand that might surprise some who had previously snubbed the marque as too corporate. Bathroom feature rich marbles, in-mirror TVs and toiletry concierge that allows you to pick either Shanghai Tang, Tara Smith or Tara Smith bath products.
