Hotel Type

Luxury Hotel

One of the most anticipated hotel openings in recent Paris history, Peninsula Hotels makes its first foray into Europe with an ambitious, renovated Haussmann flagship steps away from the Arc de Triomphe in the 16th arrondissement. The brand brings with it an Eastern service sensibility as well as its prerequisite afternoon tea, cute pageboys and armada of Rolls Royce including a restored 1934 Phantom II. A period 19th century building feels every bit the gilded address even if a bit removed from its competition like the Plaza Athenee and Mandarin Oriental that benefit from more ideal locations. Guests arrive to an aristocratic structure with masonry detailing resorted by master craftsman and elaborate porte-cochere under glassy architectural marquee. Inside, a lobby is accessed on two sides under soaring ceilings in a spare, light-filled space of minimalist décor and voluminous grandeur as 800 hand-blown Lasvit leaves create one of the prettiest chandeliers in Paris. The hotel is home to six dining options including LiLi Chinese restaurant and L'Oiseau Blanc - an epic rooftop restaurant, bar and terrace on the sixth floor that's a showstopper.

The Room

A joint venture between Qatar based Katara Group that owns the actual property and Peninsula Hotels that manage it; the Paris property rises six stories and is home to is home to 200 rooms including 34 suites. Entry-level rooms feature well-sized bedroom area with self-contained dressing room and walk-in closet. Tones of grey and cream enwrap high-gloss lacquered architectural details with walls adorned in custom artwork and imported Asian flair. Bathrooms feel far more French with dramatic marble in lay and far more technology than you’ll ever want at 6am following a red-eye. A series of 5 upper-level suites feature expansive, private rooftops with Eiffel Tower views. Additionally, the Peninsula Spa sits in a 20,000-sqaure foot space of private treatment rooms, indoor heated and state-of-the-art Fitness Centre that’s one of the largest in the city.
