Ibiza Summer Openings 2014

April 16, 2014 09.34 AM

Summer seems to arrive earlier every year on Ibiza, as Spring brings with in a slough of seasonal openings from Es Paradis and Ocean Beach Club to KM5 and Blue Marlin. Many of the island’s top venues keep weekend-only hours through May, with the exception of places like Mint Lounge and Amante Beach Club that go daily by late-April. On May 19th, look for the debut of Hard Rock Hotel that brings with it a mega-resort to Playa d’en Bossa including beach club, sushi eatery and dance club that looks to give Ushuaia a bit of competition this year. As for Ushuaia, it gets a later May start on May 24th along with Space the same weekend and Amnesia and Privilege the following weekend. Pacha also reopens the last week of May with Steve Aoki’s Playhouse every Wednesday, David Guetta’s F*** Me I’m Famous on Thursdays and Friday’s Insane.

In June, look for Cocooon at Amneisia starting June 2nd while Hed Kandi takes over the Ocean Beach pool party every Monday. Matinee Ibiza gets its night going starting June 14th at Amnesia as Carl Cox debuts every Tuesday at Space starting June 24th. Ushuaia waits until late-June to unleash its weekly assault of superstar DJs that this year will include a weekly line-up of Avicii on Sundays, David Guetta on Mondays, Hardwell on Tuesdays and Armin Van Buuren on Wednesday " for anyone with any financial means we can’t recommend the VIP Boxes enough for these events.  Additionally, look for the return of Bouji’s Beach Club in late August as well as rumors of a Soho House pop-up arriving to the inner island " although our sources have yet to confirm.

Ibiza Rocks has proven the top non-festival based music scene in Europe the last two summers and this year looks to be no different. The Ibiza Rocks Opening Party with Haim kicks off the season on June 4th with a calendar that includes The 1975 on June 11th, John Newman on June 18th, Lily Allen on June 25th, Tinie Tempah on July 2nd and NAS with Mark Ronson and Zane Lowe on July 9th. Additional 2014 appearances at Ibiza Rocks include Rudimental, The Kooks, Bastille, Fatboy Slim and Bombay Bicycle Club.
