Best pool clubs in Las Vegas

March 30, 2015 12.45 PM

Mega DJs spinning their yet-to-be-released summer anthems to the sudden rain of Saudi champagne showers; these are the scenes that define the pool party season in Las Vegas that looks to be bigger and brasher than ever. Every year the season seems to open earlier as many clubs prepare for their grand opening from April 4th with soft-launches that already began earlier this month.

Several of last year's most popular venues have undergone upgrades and renovations including Wynn's Encore Beach Club that's showing off a remodeled pool deck with expanded VIP cabanas priced upwards of $1500 on weekends with DJ line-up that includes David Guetta on April 4th, Avicii at new Sunday Nightswim and Diplo with Kaskade headlining Memorial Day Weekend. Its biggest competition, Wet Republic, launches the following weekend on April 11th with omnipresent Calvin Harris on Saturday and Steve Aoki on Sunday. Newcomer Drai's Beach Club swims into its second season with improved DJ line-up that still falls short of the completion despite having those rooftop views that are the best of any pool in town.

As for other newcomers this year, Delano Beach Club arrives to the Mandalay Bay Beach with boutique preening deck that wasn't as impressive as we had hoped but with speedy cocktail service, affordable weekend cabanas and a South Beach edge that's exclusively for guests of the hotel. Also new for 2015, Caesar's The Linq attempts its own boutique pool with private cabanas and lily pad loungers that may prove more swamp than chic. Rehab at Hard Rock, which started the whole pool craze, cleans-up its act with a new guests-only Nirvana Pool with opening scheduled for April 14th. Bare Ultra Pool and Moorea also reopen for the season mid-month, two more stylish stalwarts standouts among the strip's murkier waters. But it's new Foxtail Pool Club at SLS that promises EC Twins and Steve Angello with a backdrop of 3D landscape animation and organic cocktails that looks to be the hit of summer.
