A glamorous drinking bar often overlooked by newcomers for the more obvious and touristy collection of lounger on the main port, Le Bar Joseph is by the Groupe Joseph family of institutions that fill St. Tropez from Le Quai Joseph, L’Escale and adjacent Grand Jospeh. Tucked inside a charming storefront on Place Hotel de Ville, a crisp terrace of 4-top tables looks more like a restaurant in daylight with stainless-steel doors and dark interior that gets a late start during warmer summer months. Inside, a majestic design by Christophe Pillet is a cozy VIP lounge with wall-mounted banquette and circular cocktail tables facing a long bar with center floor area privy to 2am dancing during July and August. Walls are adorned with equestrian artwork of wild white horses under a beam-mirrored ceiling with iridescent ball-shape chandeliers.
