The much-anticipated spin-off of Melbourne’s Chin Chin comes to fruition along a lofty splice of the Sydney’s Paddington known for boisterous eateries and irreverent nightlife. Chin Chin is a bit of both. The space is designed by the firm behind the interiors of The Dolphin, The Paddington Inn and countless other Sydney hotspots. Whitewashed blonde woods mingle with duck feather-topped seats flooded with light from walls of glass facing a Sydney streetscape and ignited by the brand’s signature neon rabbit ears.

The Food

Chin Chin puts an Australian spin on Southeast Asian food including curries, rice, and noodle dishes. Standout dishes include crispy barramundi and green apple salad with caramelised pork, peanuts, chilli & lemongrass, crispy soft-shell crab with green curry fried rice and Thai basil, yellow curry of roast duck with pumpkin, beans, and cucumber pickle or stir fry chicken with snow peas, beans, cashews, and chilli jam.

Last Word

Trendy Southeast Asian cuisine served-up in a fantastic menu within a simple walk-in, shared eating dining room in Sydney’s Paddington.
