A spin-off of Alain Ducasse's wildly successful Parisian restaurant, Spoon St. Tropez has been making a name for itself at the Byblos Hotel since 2002. This year the star chef creates a nea riviera-theme flagship known as Rivea, located at the forefront of the hotel's culinary scene. Located at the edge of the property, the is designed by Antonio Citterio and Patricia Viel who also created the Bulgari Hotel London. The restaurant is an indoor-outdoor space arranged in massive terrace lined in bold striped loungers under a candlelit canopy of lanterns dangling from mature shade trees. The crowd varies between guests of the Byblos and part-time St. Tropez residents making an appearance before hitting Les Caves du Roy located along a short corridor away from the restaurant.

The Food

One of two great eateries at the Byblos, the the menu offers a supper club spin on gourmet Mediterranean cuisine with a local twist. The restaurant prides itself on a culinary freedom that allows guests to either eat in an interior bar environment, terrace or main dining area surrounded in architectural winter garden. The cuisine rotates between native local flavors of the French Riviera, Italy, and inland France for homemade pastas, delicate seafood dishes and incredible meats evocative of Ducasse's other awarded eateries. In-house DJs mix a special soundtrack of dinner tunes that vary between hip-hop and ‘60s French music.

Last Word

Located at the edge of the Byblos St. Tropez, this Alain Ducasse-eatery designed by Antonio Citterio and Patricia Viel is a new summer landmark for high-end dining.
