Ago Las Vegas
The Scene:
After ten years of existence on the ferocious LA restaurant scene, Ago is home in in the former-Simon Kitchen and Bar at the Hard Rock Hotel. The décor mixes raw natural wood in a stylish yet understated manner far more modern the its LA-sibbling. The main dining room sings of beiges and creams much like the restaurant other outposts. The walls are lined in comfy banquettes with prime center tables reserved for celebrity patrons. Aside from the central dining room, three private dining areas and a patio play host to intimate parties and cocktail soirees. Touting celerbity ownership that includes Robert de Niro and Harvey Weinstein as partners, look for a bevy of visiting celebs and star sightings.
The Food:
Agostino Sciandri launches his first Las Vegas eatery with a modern Tuscan menu and cocktail-leaning bar scene. Meals begin with a savory selection of hand cut carpaccio, burrata on tomato ragout, or fluffy vegetable fritto misto. A small collection of thin-crust pizzas lead into a delicate array of handmade pastas and cheese-filled raviolis topped with tomato, cream or butter sauces. Entrees are meatier than the LA location, known for its delicate white fish and fillet of sole, instead serving up two-handed beef fillets topped with mushroom or red wine reductions catering far more to Vegas visitors than those weight-conscious Hollywood types.
Last Word:
Single guests or loud social types should opt for a spot at the bar or in the plush lounge.
