Try not to disparage the Mirage Casino and Resort too much as you make your way to STACK, the Light Group's (Light, JET Nightclub) latest destination eatery offering an American-comfort menu and sleek sculptural-wood design. The restaurant is one of the hottest thing to happen to the Mirage since Roy was gobbled by his White Tiger, offering a cutting-edge architectural space of high ceilings with curved mahogany walls and floors that create a cocoon-like dining experience.
The Food:
The menu speaks of down-home American cuisine with gentle gourmet touches. The roasted tomato soup comes with a cutesy grilled cheese sandwich, while fancier folk wrap their miso black cod in lettuce cups. Aside from the crunchy ahi tuna tacos served with mango jelly jar, a more-traditional ten-ounce Kobe burger, 24-ounce rib-eye and a sea bass with lobster risotto lends a conventional steakhouse flair. Most meals end with the obligatory banana spring rolls and homemade s’mores that are worth every calorie.
