They are French mega-force of beach club owning, ski lodge managing, restaurant purveyors who in addition to owning the legendary La Plage Jumeaux on Pampelonne Beach in St. Tropez. In the former location of Casa Cri, La Maison Jumeaux is located along a charming walkway between the Place des Lices and port where a historic stone facade leads to a small interior dining room with glass-encrusted fireplace and airy white space under a whiter exposed beam ceiling. An even better outdoor courtyard is home to one of St. Tropez best summertime French dining scenes. Under a canopy of mature trees a stunning but simple outdoor space is suspended in candle lanterns and garden lighting above rattan chairs and crisp white tabletops with bottles of Provencal olive oils.
The Food
Meals begin with an impressive array of breads made from a wood fire over followed by grilled antipasti plate of flamed endives, eggplant and tomatoes drizzled in olive oil. Appetizers include a legendary tuna tartare on fresh avocado bed with toast points or cherry tomato salad with goblet-size burrata and fresh basil. Pasta course is worth ordering as an entrée, albeit with a larger portion and price, with homemade penne topped with arrabbiata sauce, linguini with creamy clam, angle hair with squid ink or spaghetti topped with grilled squid and shrimp. Main course is a traditional selection of grilled meats and baked fish with dessert menu of homemade pastries and cakes.
