From the creator of Sons of Essex and The Eldridge, Matt Levine sets-up an urban farmhouse-style dining room in the middle of New York's Soho. The styling comes compliments of architect Chien Dao who's lent his styling to projects like The Crown and The Lion. At Chalk Point, an ode to artist Grand Wood comes with reclaimed wood floors, exposed brick walls and bric-a-brac artwork from pitchforks to vintage photographs. Seating is a bit more modern and comfy along a tufted leather banquette or white-painted farm chairs with quirky accoutrement like plaid napkins and glassware that will remind you of your own family table of years ago.

The Food

The homestead styling isn’t limited to just the décor, the menu is based on a series of local food purveyors that include the best produce, seafood and meat supplier available within Manhattan. The man doing the cooking, chef Joe Isidori, was honed by the Trump family and later worked at Harbour and Southfork Kitchen in Bridgehampton. Today, his style is an ingredient-based treasure of chickpea falafel, Montauk oysters and homemade chicken lover mousse. Small plate options include sirloin tartare with quail egg, local clam chowder, Maine Uni cruido and a burrata that will wow with Meyer lemon and cucumber. Large plats yields main course options like Maine Lobster, white miso arctic char and Berkshire pork chop with rosemary fingerlings.
