The party plage (aka beach) at Tom Beach Hotel has established itself as the Nikki Beach alternative in winter St. Barth's. Its location along St. Jean's Bay is just as idyllic, cast within an all-white compound along a strip of pristine white sand beach. An open-air dining room popular for lunch is surrounded by waterfront terrace and large bar that morphs in a sunset lounge with DJs and live music by late afternoon.
The Food
La Plage Restaurant is open from breakfast through dinner with lunch and weekend brunch being the most popular. Peruvian Chef Paul Coste mixes Latin and French flavors for dishes like tuna tataki with Thai sauce, grilled lobster and Wahoo tandoori.
Last Word
The crowd tends to be more local and French than competitor Nikki Beach, with less show and more substance in the kitchen.
