We waited a while before tackling the door of Hotel Grand Amour, created by nightlife czar and pop-artist Andre Sariava in a fittingly bohemian section of the 10th near Gare de l’Est train station. Since opening in late-2015, the hotel’s casual brasserie has attracted a steady stream of fashionable-slash-arty types that appear famous because they either own magazine or are in them. Saraiava has always been a charming character to us, and his new collection of boutique hotels equally charm with their mix of style and substance. Inside, the lobby echoes Jean-Michel Frank with a mix of Perriand and pop-art among a communal counter, cozy bistro tables and writer’s bar that draws visions of the Ritz.

The Food

While the location requires a bit of advance planning, we prefer late lunch and weekend brunch at Hotel Grand Amour with its menu of traditional English breakfast, fresh pastries and heartier smoked salmon dishes. Lunch offer roasted chicken, seasonal salads and great burger with a more formal steak and seafood affair for evening dinner.

Last Word

Nightclub prince Andre Saraiva does sophomore Amour Hotel in the 10th with casual brasserie for the fashion-set.
