Think quintessential Italian tourist restaurant, at least visually, complete with traditional home-style dining room with checkered table clothes and bentwood bistro stools. The façade is rather unimpressive, the deteriorating stucco and a line of motorbike encroaching on the rarely used patio make most simply pass by without noticing. But in actuality, this Spanish Step-adjacent Italian eatery near the Via Condotti is a local gourmet hotspot for post-shopping indulgence.
The Food
A traditional trattoria menu includes outrageously delicious pasta creations including a rigatoni al'amatriciana with pancetta, homemade ravioli with cheese and mushroom stuffing, and a signature pan-fried veal with prosciutto and sage. An award-winning wine list includes two-handed selections from France and Italy, ordered by a well-verse clientele of fashion-elite and the occasional tourist.
Last Word
It’s one of the hardest reservations to land in the summer, if in need try your hotel’s concierge or a pushy Italian friend.
