A follow-up and neighbor to the beloved State Bird Provisions from Stuart Brioza and Nicole Krasinski, The Progress is threatening to eclipse its older sibling. First impression is smart and chic. The décor radiates a casual vibe, with distinctive notes of elegance: lofty vaulted ceiling, custom lighting arrayed in a sensuous curve, finely sanded wood floors and banisters, custom designer wood tables and chairs. A romantic mezzanine balcony has a bird's-eye view of the kitchen and is ideal for larger groups.
The Food
The Progress advertises as New American cuisine and its menu delivers on a gorgeous blend of cultures and influences. Caviar and trout roe small bites highlight the appetizers. A selection of elegant salads includes lamb tartare and duck prosciutto options. Sharing platters (for 2-6 people) are the dinner highlight: BBQ half duck, roasted & grilled half rabbit with shishitos and grilled ribeye with aged garlic barley misozuke are standouts. Save room for the decadent dessert menu.
