Beach Resort
On the island of Providenciales, Gansevoort makes its island debut within a 5-story maisonette of white stucco and glass on a private stretch of white sand beach that’s quickly becoming a hotspot. It’s smaller than it’s big brother properties in Miami and NYC, but just the way you want in an island setting currently exploding with 300+ room resorts. The first thing you will notice about the Gansevoort are the guests, a sexy and in-the-know circle of urbanites looking for a mix of luxury and high-design not currently found on the island.
The hotel is home to One Group’s Bagatelle, the Mediterranean bistro making its sophomore debut from NYC’s Meatpacking District. There’s also an outpost of Exhale Spa, a lifestyle bootcamp with body regimens, serious yoga instructors and fitness center. But the real grit of Gansevoort is its pool, an infinity-edge blue tile mirage interrupted by tanning platforms that are a stage for anyone looking to show-off their eight-packs abs. More timid bodies grab one of the upper deck loungers or hit the white sand beach with full-service menu and staff outfitted in Rag & Bone uniforms.
The Room
With just 91-rooms Gansevoort is like checking into a private residence hotel complete with perky staff, intimate lobby area and causally luxurious vibe. Guest rooms are designed with floor-to-ceiling windows, all of which yield their own ocean view regardless of category. Entry-level rooms are arranged with separate living and sleeping areas outfitted in rich teak furnishings with simple lines and cool-to-touch fabrics. Fully equipped kitchens are ready for their gourmet debut or simply offer an over-the-top way to chill your complimentary bottles of water. Many bathrooms are incorporated into the bedroom with deep soaking tubs a short walk away from limestone rain showers and double sinks suspended on floating vanities. Upgraded room categories offer expanded living areas as well as outdoor terraces with sun loungers and eating area big enough for blinged-out entertaining.
