After a brief 2017 hiatus while searching for a new location, beloved East Hamptons restaurant Moby's returns with the same fine-casual, friendly vibe. A favorite with both locals and visitors, Moby's is a place to see and be seen: the typical crowd is elegant and festive, a welcome alternative to the more formal local dining options. The new location at East Hampton Point overlooks the water. The whitewashed building is tidy and attractive, with an interior of rich dark woods and contemporary furnishings. The indoor bar is cozy and warm, while the outdoor bar is directly on the marina, bright and airy with appealing views of Three Mile Harbor. The ambiance is laid back and very welcoming.<br />
The Food
The original Moby's earned an enthusiastic following with a menu of coastal Italian cuisine. The new Moby's keeps that successful recipe intact, with select offerings of fine seafood and pasta: whole black sea bass, mussels in white wine sauce, and Montauk swordfish are some of the returning classics. An authentic wood-fired pizza oven churns out Neapolitan-style pies, perfect for snacking. Pasta dishes include spaghettini with shrimp and pesto campanelle with morel mushrooms. Ingredients and fish are sourced locally whenever possible.
