You'd never know it, but hidden behind the Wynn is the strip's top golf destination with a clubhouse eatery known as The Country Club that's one of the city's top lunch scenes. Visitors arrive to a hush-hush entrance where men dressed like Tiger Wood and ladies who lunch crisscross a wood-paneled library of gentlemanly club chairs and roaring fireplace. The smoke-filled air pf slot machine ringing gives way to knobby knickers and bespoke cardigans. Further inside, the actual dining room is laid in Scottish plaid carpeting with black-and-white photographs lining the walls and Wynn's signature white glove service rushing to-and-fro. Outside is the true beauty where endless views of the fairways and 18th hole waterfall are the perfect backdrop for an outdoor dining room that's easily the prettiest in Vegas.
The Food
This New American steakhouse offers a lunch and dinner menu by former James Beard nominee chef Carlos Guía. Lunch appetizers include grilled sugarcane shrimp with passion fruit sauce, Kobe beef carpaccio with arugula and sweet corn chowder that’s a house specialty. Entrees range from a classic country club sandwich stacked with prosciutto and avocado or steakhouse salad with strips of sirloin to smoked chipolte burger with parmesan-truffle potato crisps or truly innovative shrimp and grits. Dinner is a more formal food affair, often overlooked for lunch service, with foie gras starters and roasted rack of lamb or Creole spiced bison rib-eye to follow.
