The Argentine equivalent to NY’s Armory Show or Miami’s Art-Basel, ArteBA runs for a long weekend in late-May of every year in the Argentine capital. Started in 1991, the 5-day annual event attracts nearly 120,000 visitors for the over 71 participating art galleries, museum-hosted events and private soirées. Not limited to just Argentine artists, the show includes works from neighboring countries including Brazil, Chile and Uruguay that includes cash prizes by corporate sponsors like Petrobras and Arcos Dorados for the award-winning pieces of the art fair.

Tips

Essentially walking distance to areas like Palermo and or short taxi ride from posher Recoleta, a number of high-end hotels offer perks like VIP access to the show and special fall and winter rates even after the fair has ended.
