From the nightlife posse that brought Tao and Tao Beach to Sin City, Lavo is the latest supper club concept to sweep across desert nightlife. Located within the Palazzo Resort, adjacent to sister-ship Venetian Resort, the space is divided between a main dining room, upstairs nightclub and lounge with outdoor terrace. The interior design is inspired by the Roman bathhouses of Constantinople with towering ceiling and brocade wall details revealing eccentric water features. Turkish water basins flank the bridge that leads to the upstairs nightclub where walls of glass walls and balconies overlook the action below. The dance floor is surrounded by an elevated VIP area with glossy banquettes and mirrored alcoves under domed ceiling that adds to the hallucinogenic 2am effect. The club is blinged out with all the usual Tao details like techy video display system booming hip-hop images and sounds of resident DJs Vice, Reach, Galleano and Berrie that can even be heard on the strip-side deck overlooking the Las Vegas neon lights.
Tips
A dinner reservation doesn't guarantee swift entry to the upstairs nightclub, but it definitely helps and should be mentioned to the hostess or waitress with a hefty tip.
Last Word
Owners of Tao debut new nightlife concept at neighboring Palazzo Resort with prized chef and top-shelf DJs spinning nightly entertainment.
