Pool Season tip-off in Las Vegas

March 21, 2014 02.19 PM

More for posing and dancing than actual swimming, pool season in Las Vegas kicks-off even earlier this year with a line-up of even larger venues, celebrity DJs and hosted events.

WET Republic
was first out of the gates with renovations that include six new VIP bungalows with private plunge pools and outdoor showers. The main pool was also expanded to ease last year’s sold-out headliner events that this year includes Calvin Harris, Fergie, Tiesto and Afrojack leading into Memorial Day. Its main competition, Encore Beach Club at Wynn, opens this season with a Saturday line-up that includes Avicii, David Guetta and Steve Angelo. Marquee Dayclub at Cosmopolitan lures back Kaskade for select weekends while new Daylight at Mandalay Bay tries to break ground with Nicky Romero and Alesso.

Ditch Fridays at the Palms shows-off its own renovations while Rehab at Hard Rock that started the whole craze lures higher celeb wattage with Kendrick Lamar, Robin Thicke and Aloe Blacc. For more exclusivity, Moorea Beach Club reopens this weekend with its rooftop VIP pavilions while Mandarin Oriental keeps it Zen with its poolside cabanas that are rarely louder than the pop of champagne. A few newcomers will also join the fray including SLS Las Vegas in early September and Drai’s Beach Club atop The Cromwell " a new boutique hotel concept by Harrah’s Entertainment that’s scheduled to open over Memorial Day weekend.
