Some are calling it the SF version and US-born competitor to almighty Soho House. Located near Jackson Square, The Battery was once a turn-of-the-century marble factory and now the latest membership concept from two Silicon Valley start-up mavens. Following a full renovation, the Ken Fulk-designed property is now home to the city’s most anticipated member’s club and private boutique hotel. The property includes infrastructure like a formal eatery by Alain Ducasse alum Jason Arbusto, buzzy member’s bar, beer-theme garden, wine cellar and in-house art program with its own curator. The 16 stylish hotel rooms are available for members and non-members alike with full run of the house and in-room perks like Molton Brown products and full-kitchen in the penthouse. The Battery comes to full life November 1st with a soft opening already underway to select invited members.
